Who says you can’t put a skate park inside a brewery? Aimed at bringing together the urban street culture and complimenting skate culture on Halloween weekend, Tales from the Grip did just that, and a lot more. With a pop-up skate park constructed by Trey Hill, Korey Jackson and the rest of the Skate Supply crew, hundreds of skaters arrived promptly to be the first ones to take on the ramps and rails located inside and outside of the venue. And they didn’t come alone. The local urban crowd pulled up in equally large numbers to experience the concoction cooking up inside. Jon Phenomenon, 1-Hunnered, and Vega supplied the sound; Alex Belardi, Korey Jackson and Trey Hill provided the visuals; Sky Welkin, Kapitol Art, Extra Company and Skate Supply brought the merch; and ConFromThe703 delivered the performance. Combine all this into one night, add in 12 ounces of O’Connor’s #1 selling IPA (El Guapo) and wala- you have DOPE.
